MIRDIDINGKINGATHI JUWARNDA (SALLY GABORI) COMMISSION FOR THE SUPREME COURT BRISBANE
In 2009 The Supreme Court Brisbane commissioned the installation of a major site specific mural by Mrs Gabori which was officially installed in 2011 with the curatorial assistance of Beverly Knight and project team.
Queensland Premier and Arts Minister Anna Bligh announced the commission for Bentinck Island artist Mrs Gabori to create a large-scale artwork for the new Brisbane Supreme and District Court development, Queensland.
Alcaston Gallery, Melbourne and Mornington Island Art, Queensland, were delighted for Mrs Gabori to be joining with internationally acclaimed artists, such as Yayoi Kusama, in achieving this major commission.

Alcaston Gallery is honoured to present new paintings on bark, timber board and larrkitj poles by Yolngu artist Djakangu Yunupingu in her second solo exhibition Djulpan - Heavenly Women at the Alcaston Gallery Exhibition Space – 84 William Street Melbourne from 5 April – 3 May 2024.
