Barbara Mbitjana Moore 2022
Barbara Mbitjana Moore is a proud Anmatyerre woman originally from the Ti Tree (Tea Tree) community 190 kilometres north of Alice Springs in Central Australia, who is today based in Amata in the APY lands of South Australia.
Recognised for her formidable command of paint on large-scale canvases, Moore upholds the importance of keeping Country and culture strong, and passing on cultural practice and knowledge to younger generations.
In Moore's upcoming solo exhibition her bold designs and intense colour represent variations in the landscape, depicting a bird’s eye perspective of her beloved Anmatyerre country and memories of place.
Karen Mills - Unfold
Karen Mills investigates themes of identity and memory; connection and disconnection with her Aboriginal heritage in Unfold. Her abstract paintings evoke landscapes, inspired by her experience and memory of Country.
