SHIRLEY MACNAMARA 2016
Alcaston Gallery is honoured to present an exhibition of new sculpture by Queensland artist Shirley Macnamara.
As an artist, Shirley draws inspiration from her beloved bush country, using natural materials to create objects such as guutu (vessels), baskets and large installations that reflect forms in nature.
In 2015 Shirley Macnamara was a finalist in the 32nd Telstra National Aboriginal Torres Strait Islander Art Awards, and the Deakin University Contemporary Small Sculpture Award. Her work is currently featured in the exhibition ARTNOW Far North Queensland at the Cairns Regional Art Gallery.
