Represented by Alcaston Gallery Multidisciplinary artist DEAN SMITH is currently presenting new ceramics and paintings at the Castlemaine Art Museum in an Exhibition titled Between Dawn and Dusk. 

Castlemaine Art Museum will be presenting an ARTIST TALK with Dean Smith discussing his exhibition Between Dawn and Dusk at Castlemaine Art Museum on 

Saturday 26 November 2022 at 2pm

With CAM Director, Naomi Cass, and Curator Jenny Long. 

In this artist talk, Dean Smith will discuss his sources of inspiration, including landscapes, mountains, trees, rivers, the seasons, electronic soundscapes, as well as his Māori ancestry - interweaving past and present, the imagined and the real.

Nellie Ngampa Coulthard's upcoming solo exhibition at Alcaston Gallery, which reflects her unique interpretation of the native flora that surrounds the Country of her childhood – in particular, the yellow Acacia Murrayana Wattle was featured in Art Collector issue 102, page 48. We are thrilled to present a selection of her new work from the 23 November unitl the 16 December 2022.

Major works by YARITJI YOUNG and leading Anangu women artists is currently on exhibition in Kungka Kuṉpu (Pitjantjatara for 'Strong Women') at Ngununggula, Southern Highlands Regional Gallery, New South Wales. 

Drawn from selected works of the Art Gallery of South Australia's collection, Kungka Kuṉpu (Strong Women) showcases major contemporary works by celebrated women artists from the APY Lands in South Australia including collaborative work by the celebrated Ken Family (Yaritji Young, Tjungkara Ken, Sandra Ken, Freda Brady, Maringka Tunkin, and Paniny Mick). 

 Kungka Kuṉpu (Strong Women) ​​​is on exhibition at Ngununggula, Southern Highlands Regional Gallery, New South Wales until 22 December 2022.

 A major painting by celebrated Pitjantjatjara woman and multidisciplinary contemporary artist YARITJI YOUNG is currently on exhibition at the Bangkok Art Biennale 2022, CHAOS : CALM​​​, alongside other senior artists from the Anangu Pitjantjatjara Yankunytjatjara (APY) Lands of far north South Australia, as part of the Ngura Pulka project, supported by the APY Art Centre Collective. Over the last three years, senior APY Lands artists have created major artworks that celebrate their Country and embracing the powerful Tjukurpa that lies within. 

TIn 2022 Mirdidingkingathi Juwarnda Sally Gabori (c.1924-2015) was named one of QUEENSLAND’S GREATS the awards this year recognising a contemporary Queensland artist who made a significant international impact in the art world.
